Final Draft: Image of Indonesia - Public Transportation

Indonesia is rank as the 4th most populous country in the world. That make many people, including students, workers, commuters, etc. need a good public transportations system to provide them a  good service in transportation. People nowadays, are very mobile and busy. “Time is money”.  That’s what people think nowadays. So they hope by using public transportations they would travel and commute easier around the city.

That is why local government, in this case Jakarta, provide them with many kind of transportation. The problem is, our capital city transportations isn’t very comfortable and trusted to ride through some people’s eyes. Even though there is more than one of it. Such as bajaj, taxi, busway, bus, even motorcycle ride or what we mostly called ‘ojek’. I think for the last one, not many countries around the world has it. But Indonesia do, considering that many of our residents still using motorcycle. The benefit using ojek is, you won’t get stuck longer in traffic jam compare to using cars. Ojek can fit in a small alley or road, so sometimes you have your own ‘private’ way that none of big vehicle can enter. But, the loss is, riding ojek isn’t really safety, especially in Jakarta. Different from others, ojek doesn’t have any permanent/constant fare. That make us, as a costumer must be smart to negotiate the fare. Furthermore, riding ojek isn’t so good for your health. Because the smoke from vehicles can enter our body easily.

Metromini bus including the 'pengamen'.
Now let’s talk about the vehicle that most people choose. It’s bus. Whether it’s called Metromini or Kopaja, it is still in one group. People mostly choose this because it’s very easy to find bus in every roads/bus stop in Jakarta. And yes, it’s really affordable, only two or three thousand rupiah. But that’s why it’s really crowded and sensitive to crime. Plus, the facility often not clean and already used for years.
Speaking of safety and hygiene, i think the safest and cleanest one in Jakarta is taxi either busway. Both are really comfortable with clean seats and air conditioner. But taxi fare is often can be really expensive especially when you travel far. Busway or TransJakarta is the most efficient because it has it own lane in Jakarta’s road. So it will be easier and faster to travel.
Bajaj
And the last one is bajaj, this vehicle can only found in India or Indonesia. It’s quite unique actually. It only has three wheels and doesn’t has a headlights. So, if you see a bajaj in the road, it will really hard to predict where it gonna turn, right or left because it can’t give you any sign. Furthermore, bajaj’s machine sounds very noisy and if you ride this your body will shaking all the time because of the machine. And same as ojek, it doesn’t has any constant fare.
Overall, the residents in the city---especially the suburban with their capability to buy their own car, still choose to travel by car. Considering the comfort, safety and hygiene factor.
If there’s any tourists come visiting my city, i suggest they take the trusted and comfortable accommodation to travel all day long.

School shouldn’t use books as medium for learning anymore. Agreed or not? By Putri Naura Assyifa XE

But instead they should use latest technology such as laptop, computer tablet, etc. as the medium.
Nowadays, technology had overtaken the world in many aspect. Tourism, healthy, industry, medical, pharmaeutical, etc. And how about education? Does it get involve too?

The answer is of course it is. Education keep evolves and so does technology. And recently, there’s an idea to change the system of learning by subtitute books into gadgets.
This idea come up because people started to thinking maybe if students use gadgets for their learning, everything would be so much easier. For example, if you wanted to find any sources for your homework, you could just search it by using search engine. Now if you decided to use book as your resource, which is a traditional way, it could take much longer time. That’s what people think. Now i know that using internet had been done for many years since internet was found. But what people trying to change here, is the medium for learning at home, and of course at school. Students oftenly only use their gadgets for learning at home and doing homework. But, what if they could use the gadgets full-time at school? So no longer books, or notebook, or stationery. They don’t even have to listen to teacher because the material they need to learn or they will learn is already on their gadgets.
Pros and Contras
Pros
In the positive ways, we will teach our kids and younger generation to be aware to technology as early as possible. So when they grow up, they will get used to it. And there will be many jobs and occupation that related to technology in the future so we’re preparing them from now. And not using books as a mediator to learning would be more efficient and healthy for teacher either the student. Because by using just one gadget, they won’t carry many heavy books in one day which sometimes can be dangerous for their back-bone and body structure.
Contras
The negative thing about subtituting book into gadget is, we’re also taking part in global warming. We know the making of gadget involve many natural resources and the industry produce a lot of smoke & unhealthy rubbish that isn’t good for environment.
Also, the price of gadget is more expensive than book. Though gadget are more multifunctional, but it could bring bad effects for kids. Kids can learn everything from it, and if we don’t teach them how to use the technology wisely, they could possibly misunderstand. In globalization era like this, many worst thing can happened in internet and social network.
Using gadget also could bring out bad habits to kids. They could get addictive to the gadget so they’ll forget their routines.
Playing gadget for hours isn’t really good for eyes and body’s health. In addition, it could bring out laziness to children and decrease their durability because ‘gadget kids’ often sit in front of their gadgets for hours than playing with their friends or do some sports which is important for kids health at their age. Beside that, some survey shows that many of ‘gadget kids’ often having a sleep disease or what we usually called Insomnia.
Using technology could possibly decrease the function of teacher too.

So my conclusion is, even though technology brings many advantage in kids learning system, we should wisely use them. Nowadays, many people are very rely on technology, though, we shouldn’t get addicted. Therefore, we should be the one who controlled technology, not the opposite. Technology and gadget are made to make human’s life easier and better.
Though there’s many profit of using them, i suggest we should still use the conventional ways of learning. So we could teach our kids and younger generation to appreciate people’s hard work by learning from book and teacher.

Will it be Possible to Live Forever?

All creatures and human kind will surely die. All Human kind and living things in this world will die someday. How do you explain death in terms of science? Even if it is not because of accident or something else, every human will grow old and our body will stop working.  Even if our face and body still look young, our organs and cell will be damaged eventually. If we explain it in religious perspective, the answer is simple. We can’t deny god’s decision. We will be called by our god and we can’t reject it. In other words, we cannot prevent death if god says so.

We will get our immortality in 20 years. Scientist Ray Kurzweil claims human could become immortal in 20 years time through nanotechnology and an increased understanding of how the body works. We save our memories and put it inside a machine and it will let us live forever. In other words, we save our life to a computer and put it inside a robot then we can live forever as a cyborg. How about errors? Even the most perfect and expensive computer could get a virus or error and the break because of it. So even if we become a cyborg, will we become break and die too?

Immortality in Religious perspective is possible. Yes, in religious perspective we will have our eternal life. How is it possible? What I meant here is not physical immortality. Of course, in many religions human and all living things will die because we have to come back to our creator, our god. But we will live forever in after life. Most religion believes in after life and we will live forever there. So even if we died in this world, our body got rotten and stop working, our soul will go to after life and live forever there.

People will get sick of immortality if they got it. Why do people need immortality anyway? Many people just want to die before they have to.  They commit a suicide and kill themselves because they get tired of this world. Then why people want immortality if someday they will become tired of it? If you could live forever, you will get cored eventually. You could get insane for some reason, because you will see the same world all over again. You will continue to live when people you love, family, friends and many other people die. You will continue your life stress and lonely. So why do we need immortality? And if all people could live forever, have you ever imagine how the world would be? Human will continue causing chaos everywhere and this world will go insane!

To conclude, I would and surely say that immortality in this world is not possible. We can't fight god's power. Even with all this technologies, we will still die if our god calls us. We must always believe in our religion and worship our god. We should always keep holding on to our beliefs. So when god calls for us, we will be happy in after life on the other side. And I absolutely sure humans cannot live forever.

That's all. Thank you

Will there still be schools and teachers in the future?

In the future technology develops faster than now.And that thing will affect our activity in the future. So I think there is might be no more teachers in the future. Because inventor will invent something that replace the role of teachers for us.

Teachers won’t be teaching again. There are two possibility. First, like I said before inventor could invent a robot that can speak, move, hear, and teach. So that robot will replace the teachers in school. But maybe that teaching activity wont be as effective as a teacher teach. What if the robots got malfunction and then explode. I don’t think this is a good idea

Inventor could invent a teacher helper. That’s the second possibility, maybe inventor will invent a teacher helper which is something that helps us learn better and more fun and also helps the teachers teach more easily. Let me give you an example of a teacher helper. A laptop is a teacher helper because teachers shouldn’t have to write on white board like they used to and they could type at home and then project it at school the next day.

My conclusion is I think there will still be schools and teachers in the future. People need to make friends and school is the place where children make friends. And students need real teachers for teaching them. And anyway I don’t really think about it so just let it flow and enjoy your life

IMAGE OF INDONESIA: GREAT PLACES IN INDONESIA by Fikry Khairy Tamim XE

I want to tell you some great places in Indonesia. Indonesia has many great places, but now, on this report i want to discuss about beaches in Bali , Prambanan Temple, and pulau komodo where the world's largest lizards live.

BEACHES IN BALI
The self-styled 'Ultimate Island' certainly has plenty for everyone, from those looking for a relaxing beach holiday through to a cultural journey.
Bali boasts a string of beaches, mainly in the south of the island. The resorts of Kuta, Nusa Dua and Sanur all boast good stretches of sand with a range of facilities and watersports available. In the north the black sands of Lovina are a striking alternative and never get too busy.
PRAMBANAN
The Prambanan Temples form the largest temple complex on the Indonesian island of Java. Constructed around AD 900, the compound was deserted soon after it was completed, this was possibly caused by the eruption of nearby Mount Merapi.
The temples were restored in 1953 and now form one of the world's great Hindu shrines. There are 224 temples in total, but the site is dominated by the three main temples: the Brahma Temple, the Vishnu Temple and the Shiva Temple. From May to October, the Ramayana Ballet, a traditional Indonesian dance based on the Hindu epic, is performed at the open-air theatre.
Komodo island
The island is famous for the unique fauna which roam it. The Komodo dragon, the world's largest living lizard, takes its name from the island. A type ofmonitor lizard, it inhabits Komodo and some of the smaller surrounding islands, as well as part of western Flores.

Take a boat to Komodo and Rinca islands in search of the world's largest lizard, the Komodo Dragon. But don't get too close as their bite can be fatal.

The important thing that you have to know is indonesia has many great place. The most interesting on my report is about beaches in Bali. I hope you’ll visited Indonesia.

Tourism : Tourism is an important economic sector in Indonesia. In 2009, tourism is rank as the 3rd in terms of foreign exchange earnings after oil, gas commodities and oil palm. Smoking Habit : Smoking habit in Indonesia, from teenagers to adults. Sometimes, they spend some money just for cigarettes. It isn’t surprising that the number of smokers in Indonesia rose every year. They don’t know the impact of smoking, like lung cancer, tuberculosis, and pollute the environment. Inside the cigarettes, there are 3 dangerous chemicals, such as Co(Carbon Monoxide), Nicotine, and Tar. Nicotine can causes addiction, and TAR is “carcinogen” which mean it causes cancer.

Public Transportation :  In Indonesia, especially in Jakarta public transportation such as a metromini, bajaj, and taxi are widely used. But vehicles  like this sometimes make jams on the street and there are many old vehicles are still in use. To reduce this jams, in 2004 the former governor of Jakarta, Sutiyoso make a public transportation with its own way called busway (Transjakarta).

Image of Indonesia

Hi I'm Sheila Riahna from XE.  This report is made to show you what's happening in Indonesia. I made this report with helps from my friends to gathered the data. This report is gonna discussed about foods and public transportation.

Berkas:Tinutuan with salted fish and sambal.jpg
Tinotuan
Indonesia has a lot of traditional foods because each city in Indonesia has its own traditional foods. But the most popular foods in Indonesia are Manado and Padang foods. Manado foods are very hot. It contains a lot of spices and chilis. Tht example of Manado's food is Tinotuan or bubur Manado. One of Padang's foods that popular is satay. Padang's satay is a skewered and grilled meats served with peanuts sauce. If you visit Jakarta, it's very easy for you to find Padang or Manado restaurant. Popular traditional food from Jakarta is Gado-gado.

Gado-gado

Jakarta is a busy city and known as a polluted city. Well from day till night there are a lot of vehicles on the road. And Jakarta also has public transportation such as bajaj, metromini, kancil, transjakarta, and etc.
Transjakarta or busway has started operating on 15th January 2004. Busway used to be only oil-fueled but now busway also with gas-fueled.
Bajaj is a bright orange and noisy transportation. Bajaj seat two passangers comfortably and up to five passangers. Bajaj became popular in India where they were developed with Vespa and built in Indonesia.

The point is Indonesia is a huge country with beautiful cultures. If you after reading my report and think about might be visiting Indonesia, just make sure you choose the right facility and taste all the traditional foods. Well right know Indonesia has been kinda popular in other country because of its cultures. I think that's the end of my report. Thanks for reading it!!
